Description

When a child gets diagnosed with a life-threatening illness it takes a severe toll on
their life, and those closest to them. Life-threatened children still have dreams, and
we want to fulfil them, within the context of their loving family where appropriate. We seek to inspire hope in our children’s lives, and provide a safe environment in which the family can cope and mend the trauma’s associated with having someone so ill in the home..

Fulfilling the dreams of life-threatened children, and enabling their emotional support structure at home, is at the core of what the Reach for a Dream Foundation Team do.

FAMILY FOCUS is as it suggests – an opportunity for the family to connect in a new and exciting way by providing a family with an opportunity to relieve the traumatic and stressful tensions experienced in a family i.e.

  1. Giving the family the opportunity to reconnect, spend quality time and find
    the fun in life together
  2. Providing them with the opportunity to engage with other families experiencing the same trauma and feelings of isolation
  3. Encouraging development of support systems for one another once back at home.
  4. Providing a situation during which the parents can enjoy some “alone time”
    while their children are entertained
